What We Believe
THE BIBLE
The Bible is the historical record of God’s activity written by mankind, but inspired by God’s Spirit. It contains no error. It reveals the plan, purposes and will of God for all time. Psalm 119:105; 2 Tim. 3:16
CHURCH
The church is a group of believers brought together by the Spirit of God to carry out the Great Commandment by practicing the Great Commission. Matt. 22:37-40; Eph. 5:23-27
COMMUNION:
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every week as we believe the early church did (See Acts 20:7). All baptized believers in Jesus Christ may partake with us as the emblems are passed.
OFFERING:
This offering time is provided as an opportunity for our members and regular attendees to share in the ministry of this congregation, locally and internationally, through the ministries and missionaries we support. If you are a guest, please be assured that while you are welcome to participate in the offering, you are in no way expected to do so.
DECISION:
We understand from the New Testament that accepting Christ as one’s Savior and Lord involves doing the following:
1)Believing that Jesus is the Christ (John 3:16; Acts 16:31)
2)Repenting or turning from one’s sins (Acts 2:38, 17:30,31)
3)Confessing one’s faith in Christ (Matt. 10:32,33; Romans 10:9)
4)Being buried with Christ in baptism (immersion)(Matt. 28:18-20;Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 16:33; Romans 6:3-6; Gal. 3:27
5)Living a faithful life (Matt. 24:13; II Peter 1:5-12; Rev 2:10)
THE NEXT STEP:
If you would like to accept Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, you may come forward during the Invitational Hymn. You will be asked to repeat the “Good Confession” as it is recorded in Matthew 16:16 and be buried with Christ in Baptism (Immersion). If you have already complied with these conditions and you wish to unite with this local congregation of believers, you may do so by coming forward at this time.
You will be asked to repeat the “Good Confession”.
WINTER VISITORS:
For our winter visitors, we offer an Associate Membership.
This membership allows you to retain membership in your church back home and to become a member here. Associate Members have all the privileges of full members except they cannot hold an elected office. If you would like to become an Associate Member, we ask that you come forward during one of our worship services to place your membership with us. You be asked to repeat the “Good Confession”.
